Alaska-raised Lizzie Lee is a vocalist based out of New York City who has quickly made her mark on the jazz community with her “soulful vocals” and “natural use of colors and technical abilities.” Beginning her career as a classically-trained soprano, Lizzie showcases a unique blend of operatic and jazz influences through her bold yet graceful musicality. She appears regularly across New York’s jazz scene as well as in music showcases across the United States and Europe–she has received acclaim from industry leaders like Bill Frisell, Joe Farnsworth, David Broza, and more. Lizzie recently recorded at the historic Van Gelder Studios in New Jersey, collaborating with some of the industry’s greatest including Joe Farmsworth (drums), Stacy Dillard (tenor sax), John Webber (bass), Joe Block (piano) and Rob Nuovo (guitar).
In the classical genre, Lizzie has taken the stage across the United States, Europe, and Asia in opera roles, solo acts, and concert appearances since 2017. She made her European debut in 2019 with Staatstheater Darmstadt under the direction of Maestro Ruth Reinhardt. Notable performances include The Parrot in the world premier of Mahosot: Architect of Dreams by world-renowned composer Somtow Sucharitkul and concert tours with the Jenaer Philharmonie under Maestro Enrico Delamboye and the Bergische Symphoniker. Recent classical performances include the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro in New York City and appearances with the European Music Institute in Vienna with Maestro Francisco Araiza.
